Too Busy Experiencing Love to Write

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, Ephesians 5:25-26

Tonight I don’t have time to write a lengthy blog on love and intimacy because I’ll be spending the evening at our church Valentine’s Banquet with my husband.

The scripture that I found on YouVersion when I logged on seemed appropriate since I will be spending the evening with my hubby and the church!

I’m going to tell you, I love the excuse to dress up for date night! Too often we go “out” as we are. Granted we make the time to go out, but we skip the show off phase from courting days. Valentine’s Banquet night is a courting days dress up kind of night.

Even though it’s a church event, even though I’m old and overweight, I’m just a little bit hip and trendy tonight!

Well, at least in my mind. My daughter said I should have wore this outfit for hippie day during spirit week last week. The one day I didn’t participate.

Regardless of her opinion, my husband appreciates my out-of-the-norm outfit, make-up, and fixed up hair-do.

I firmly believe, always have for that matter, that looks aren’t important. It’s always what’s on the inside that counts. However, that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t do our best with what we’ve been given to go out on the arm of our spouse. At least every once in a while.

Tonight you don’t get a lesson on love for Christians because this Christian will be out experiencing instead.

  • Always enlightening….this posting is so on target.

    • What could be more intimidating than knowing not only is your high school English teacher reading your blog posts? Knowing he’s also a psychologist. 😉

      Thanks for reading & responding!

  • I hope you had a wonderful time! I spent the evening out with my husband it was truly lovely just being in the moment together. I am sure you looked lovely, as I am sure you looked like yourself and that is the best way! Stay true to your style and be happy.

    • We did have a good time! I was hoping we’d get to go the movies afterward, but it was too late when we got done with dinner.

Thank you, Winnie, for taking the time to read and respond!
