“He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” John 7:38

Tonight I’m tired and having trouble putting together a rational thought. I have already missed a day blogging this month, however, and have to play catch-up, so I can’t skip another day.

I’m absolutely not capable of writing something inspired tonight. Definitely not capable of teaching tonight. I’m not even confident that I can string together subjects and verbs without major typos.

I’ve been stressing over a topic. What can I write about without messing up royally?

And a youtube video shows up in my facebook newsfeed. I play it to see if I know the song. One line speaks to me…

“When I am tired and so afraid”

That’s me tonight, Lord. I need to write, but I’m so tired and I’m afraid I’ll say something wrong. I’m afraid I won’t bring You what You deserve.

“When darkness comes and my vision fades”

Lord, it’s not my gift or talent, but yours. Not my vision, but Your direction. Keep me tuned in to Your light and Your guidance.

“And it’s always burning and stirring my soul”

Yes, Lord! I don’t want to shaken, but I want to be stirred!!!

“It never stops or ever fades”

Lord, I know You’re everlasting. Even when I get tired and weak, You have an infinite amount of energy.

If you haven’t caught on yet, this is the second verse of “Your Love is Like a River” by Third Day. I love Third Day. I don’t think I’ve ever heard a bad Third Day song, and many seasons of my life I’ve found myself being ministered to by their music.

Take a moment to listen to “Your Love is Like a River”. Perhaps the lyrics will speak to you like they did to me this evening. Maybe they’ll even open a dialogue between you and God.

And, if you don’t mind, drop me a message and tell me your favorite Third Day song!
