One Beautiful Board Book
So, I’m verging from my typical path. Today’s post is about a CHRISTMAS book for young children!
Two new for me things in one post!!!!
But I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to review this cute, cute, cute, children’s board book, One Christmas Bear.
Neither the stock photo nor the photo I took clearly shows the glittery snow-like cover on this book. However, the glitter does not seem to come off with handling (Woot woot! Glitter without the mess!). It’s more pressed into the cover than stuck on the cover.
One Christmas Bear By Anne Vittur Kennedy is a board book to help teach toddlers and preschoolers to count. Each page contains a verse including the number of the two-page spread. Children can enjoy the antics of the arctic animals as they play and prepare for Christmas.
Teachers of older students may enjoy using this book to demonstrate rhyme, meter, onomatopoeia, and alliteration. This simple counting book contains examples of literary elements that can carry through English classes in school.
The illustrations are full of energy as the animals celebrate friendship and fun. The energy pulls the reader into the fun.
The teacher in me is ecstatic about the awards bestowed on Anne Vittur Kennedy! Check out who’s recommending her books for students!!! Some of my favorite people/organizations!
Anne Vittur Kennedy has been delighting young children with her humorous and playful books for thirty years. Her awards include American Library Association’s Notable Books List, Teacher’s Choice, The Green Earth Book Award, and The Green Prize for Sustainable Literature
