H: Here I Go Again
Perhaps one of the most well-known chunks of scripture in Christian circles and yet one we seem to struggle with the most.
My posts this month have been geared to people of all walks, but today’s will speak more pointedly to Christians.
How many times have we felt like we needed to show Christ’s love to someone specific in a very intentional way? How often have we headed that direction intending to do that very thing? How often have we come face-to-face with the one we need to minister to and instead of doing what we were sent to do started a conversation about the weather, or kids, or work, or anything other than God Himself?
I will never forget the night our phone rang with a worried individual hoping that we might have insight to where someone very upset might go. Alone. With weapons intended for self-harm.
Perhaps we had ignored that conversation for too long. Made too many excuses.
Actions that evening were salt and light.
I can’t say for sure that a life was radically changed, but I can say that seeds were planted. I can say that a physical life was saved to have another day to make the choice.
We have no guarantee of tomorrow.
I don’t know about you, but I hope “Here I Go Again” won’t always be my prayer.
